Let them ride poker, also known by its more common name, ‘let ‘em ride poker’, is available online at many poker rooms and internet casinos. While the number one online poker game still remains Texas Hold ‘em because of increased media attention and tournament play, let them ride poker is still hugely popular among the poker public and it is not difficult to understand why.
Essentially, let them ride is played against the house (or casino). This means that unless you are playing in multi player mode, there are no other players involved in the game.
So how do you play let them ride poker against the house? Firstly, the player makes the initial bet called an ante and then he or she is dealt three cards face up, while the dealer is dealt two cards face down. The objective of the game is to make any winning hand of poker that consists of a pair of tens or higher, using all five cards.
You then need to make a choice regarding the ante bet. You can either raise the original bet (by its same amount), or you can continue to the next round of the game without raising the ante. Thereafter, the dealer’s first card is shown and once again, you can choose whether to raise your hand or continue in the game. If you decide to raise, the amount will be the original bet size once more.
At this stage of the let them ride poker game, the dealer’s second card will be shown. After that, the player’s hand is evaluated just as one would evaluate any normal poker hand. Essentially, your three cards will be combined with the dealer’s two shown cards to make up one poker hand. If you do not have a pair of tens or higher in your hand, you lose the game. However, if you manage to get a pair of tens or higher, you win and are paid out accordingly.
