Splitting
If you are dealt two cards of equal value, you may choose to split your cards into two separate hands. You then need to wager a bet equal in value to your original bet. You are then dealt cards as usual, but for two hands. If you split two Aces, you are only dealt one more card per hand. You can only split your cards once per hand – that is you cannot split an already split hand. If you are dealt a card valued 10 with your Ace, you hand is worth 21 – it is not considered “blackjack” and if the dealer then reveals “blackjack,” their hand beats yours. After splitting, any winning hand is paid out at 1:1.
Double Down
If your hand contains two cards and you believe that one additional card will put you in a position that will beat the dealer, you can double your bet. You will then be dealt one additional card and your turn will end.
Insurance
This option in progressive blackjack allows you to insure (that is, protect) your bet if you believe that the dealer’s hand contains “blackjack” – that is if the dealer’s first card is an Ace. You do not have to take this option. This insurance will cost you half of your initial bet. In effect, you are betting that the dealer has “blackjack.” If the dealer reveals blackjack after you have insured your cards, the insurance will pay out at 2:1 (of the initial bet). If the dealer does not reveal blackjack, you lose the insurance wager that you took out.
Betting
In progressive blackjack, you can bet the initial blackjack bet and also the additional progressive jackpot. In order to bet the progressive jackpot, you must first place an initial bet. You can play for anywhere from $1 to $1000. Before you begin a game, you must place this initial bet and you can continue to click on the chip value until you have reached your desired betting amount.
Hit
If you request “hit,” you will be dealt one more card. You can request this option as many times as you like during one hand, but if you go over 21, you will be bust.
Stand
This function requests that no more cards be dealt to you. This will be your final hand for comparison with the dealer.
