Online Casino Tequila Poker – How To Play
This game combines parts of blackjack with the traditional 5-card poker game. There are a few variations of payouts for tequila poker, however, here we will describe the method of play for a 52-point hand that will pay out 7:1. It is played using a standard 52-card deck of playing cards.
Play begins by each player placing an ante wager. The dealer then deals each player four cards, face down. The player then needs to analyze his cards and decide on one of three options. He can make a high tequila bet, make a tequila poker bet or fold his hand. If the player decides to bet, he must place the bet of the same value as the ante, in the circle designated to that bet. If he chooses to fold, the player looses his initial ante wager.
Considering that the player chose to continue, he will be dealt an additional two cards
If the player placed a high tequila bet, the hand total will be calculated according to the cards’ blackjack value, with an Ace always equal to 11 points. That is, an Ace values at 11 points, picture cards at 10 points and all other cards at their face value. The value of the highest five cards that the player holds, will be calculated.
The player must hold a total hand value of 46 points or more. If he does, his ante is paid out at 1:1 and his high tequila bet is calculated. 46 to 48 points will pay 1:1, increasing up until 54 points, which will pay 200:1. It is recommended to play this hand (as opposed to folding) if your highest three cards add to a total of 28 points or higher.
If the player placed a tequila poker bet, the hand will be calculated according to the cards’ poker value. Once again, the highest five of the player’s six cards will be calculated. If a player holds a pair of Aces or higher, the ante bet will pay out at 1:1 and his tequila poker bet will be calculated. As a few examples, a pair of Aces will pay 1:1, a flush 7:1 and a royal flush 200:1. It is recommended to play this hand (as opposed to folding) if you are holding any pair, or four to any flush or a straight.
