Poker Three Online – Basic Strategy And Tips
With the rise in popularity of poker in recent years, it comes as no surprise that many variants of the game have been created. Not all players are skilled enough to play poker, yet they still want to feel part of the excitement and fun that this game traditionally generates. With that in mind, games such as poker three were created.
Poker three is a relatively simple game to play and understand. It is based on poker hand rankings and essentially consists of the player taking bets on two separate games within one games. These games are known as ‘Pair Plus’ and ‘Ante and Play’.
Pair Plus is the simplest of the two games in poker three. It simply consists of the player making a wager, having a hand dealt and being paid out according to a pay out table. Payouts in pair plus are thus as follows: A straight flush is paid out forty to one; a three of a kind is paid out thirty to one; a straight is paid out six to one; a flush is paid out four to one and a pair is paid out one to one. As can be seen, the simplicity of Pair Plus is its main draw card, allowing players to taste poker action, without having to learn complicated strategies and honing their skills.
Ante and Play is played along the same lines as Pair Plus, with slightly more skill involved. The player places a preliminary bet called an ante and receives a poker hand that is played against the house. The player now has to decide which route to take: To surrender and lose the ante bet (called ‘folding’) or place a bet equal to the ante (‘calling’).
The dealer’s hand is compared to the player’s and paid out accordingly. Both bets are lost if the dealer beats the player; both bets are returned if the dealer’s hand ties with the player’s and the player wins even money on both bets if his hand beats the dealer’s. There are unique features to Ante and Play, such as the need for the dealer’s hand to qualify for the rules by containing a queen or higher.
