Roulette

US-Blackjack offers two versions of roulette - traditional and electronic.  The electronic version is often found in casinos nowadays - it consists of a wheel with no human croupier and the play is automated with a series of touch screens.  Traditional roulette has a heavy wooden wheel with a steel ball that is dropped into the wheel.

Roulette consists of a wheel with 37 compartments, from 1 to 36 plus the zero. After all the bets have been established the wheel is spun and a ball is placed on the outer edge of the wheel. The ball will then drop into one of the numbered pockets once the wheel slows down.

The numbers on the wheel alternate between pairs of odd numbers and pairs of even numbers, and between black and red. The zero is green and placed between numbers 26 and 32 (following European roulette rules). The object of the game is to determine which number or color the ball will ultimately land on.

The table layout is arranged so that the 36 numbers are in three columns of 12 numbers each. The numbers are in sequence, and can be either red or black, depending on the number. There are two types of roulette bets: inside bets and outside bets. Inside bets give you a smaller chance of winning but pay out the most. Outside bets have more chance of winning but lower payouts. There are no limits to the number of wagers placed on each spin.

When playing the game of roulette at online casinos, there is a usually a winning number display at the top right of your screen to help you find the previous winning numbers. The common perception is that if a number has not been shown as winning in a long time, it could be time to put a stake on that number.

Inside bets:

Straight Bet

You can bet on one number by placing a chip in the center of the number you want to place your bet on (1 to 36). If that number wins you are paid 35 to 1.

Split Bet or Two Number Bet

You must place your chip on the line between two separate numbers. If the ball lands on either of these numbers you win. The payout is 17 to 1.

Street Bet or Three Number Bet

This allows you to cover three numbers in a row with one bet. To make this bet place your chip in the outside line of the row you want to bet on. If one of these three numbers comes up, you win. The payout is 11 to 1.

Corner Bet

Place your chip in the center of four numbers and if one of these numbers comes up, you win. It pays at 8 to 1.

Six Line Bet

Allows you to bet on two rows of three numbers. Place your chip in between the outside line of the last numbers of the two rows. If any of the six numbers come up you will be paid 6 to 1.

Trio bet

This is a bet on the intersecting point between 0, 1 and 2.

Outside Bets:

Any Red or Black Bet

Bet on either red or black. Place your chip on either the red spot or the black spot. This bet pays at 1 to 1.

Any Number or High Number Bet

Bet on whether the next number will be 1 through 18 or 19 through 36. Place your chip on either the 1 to 18 spot or on the 19 to 36 spot. You lose if the 0 comes up. This bet pays at 1 to 1.

Any Even or Odd Bet

Bet on whether the number will come up as even or odd. Place your chip on the even spot or the odd spot. You lose if the 0 comes up. This bet pays at 1 to 1.

Dozen Bets

These bets divide the roulette table into the numbers 1-12, 13-24 and 25-36. Place your chip on one of three spots: 1st 12, 2nd 12, or the 3rd 12. This bet pays 2 to 1.

Column Bets

A column bet is a bet on any one of the three long columns of numbers. To make the column bet place your chip on any one of the 2 to 1 spots. This bet pays 2 to 1.
